Applications
An application is the home of everything you make for Moymo. It holds the name and picture people see, the links they are shown before they allow anything, the secrets your code uses, an optional bot, the domains you have proved, the people who may test it, and its history.
You make and manage applications in the Developer Portal. Each application has these tabs.
General
| Field | Rules |
|---|---|
| Name | 2 to 32 characters. It cannot contain Moymo's name or words like staff, official or system (in any spelling, including M0YM0), because it would look like it comes from Moymo. |
| Summary | One line, up to 140 characters. Shown on the consent screen. |
| Description | Up to 4000 characters. What it does, who it is for, what it asks for and why. |
| Tags | Up to 5, lowercase letters, digits and hyphens. Used by the App Directory. |
| Icon, banner | Pictures up to 5 MB. The icon is square. They are stored by Moymo. |
| Accent colour | #rrggbb. |
| Website, Terms of service, Privacy policy | https:// links. To publish, the terms and privacy links have to be on a verified domain. |
| Support server invite | The code of a Moymo server invite where people can ask for help. |
| Czech | A translation of name, summary and description. Members who read Moymo in Czech see it instead; empty fields fall back to English. |
OAuth2
The client id (the application's id) and the client secrets, the redirect addresses, and a URL generator that builds sign-in and install links. See the OAuth2 guide.
An application can have up to 10 redirect addresses, and 3 client secrets at a time, which lets you change a secret without your server being down: add the new one, deploy it, delete the old one.
Bot
Give the application a bot and manage it: username, name, picture, about text, token. See Bots.
Installation
What the install link asks for by default (scopes and permissions) and whether the bot is public. See Adding a bot to a server.
Verification
Prove that you own a domain with a DNS record. See Domain verification.
Testers
While an application is a draft, only you and the testers you list can authorise it or add its bot. A tester needs only a Moymo account; add them by username. You can have up to 25.
Publish
A live checklist of what is missing, the choice of visibility, a note for moderators, and the delete button. See Publishing.
Activity
Everything done to the application in the portal, newest first: who did it, what, and from which address. Tokens and secrets are never written to it, only their last four characters.
States
| State | Who can use it |
|---|---|
| Draft | You and your testers. The default. |
| In review | Same as a draft. You asked to be listed in the App Directory and a moderator is looking. |
| Published | Anyone, for a public bot or a sign-in link; see Publishing. |
| Suspended | Nobody. Set by a moderator for abuse. Every token of the application stops working at once, and the portal shows the reason. |
Limits
| Applications per member | 25 |
| Redirect addresses per application | 10 |
| Client secrets at a time | 3 |
| Domains per application | 10 |
| Testers per application | 25 |
| Servers a draft application's bot can be in | 25 |
Deleting an application
On the Publish tab. You have to type the application's name. Deleting removes its bot (and the bot's messages and memberships), its secrets, its domains and its installs, including the roles the installs made in servers; members who authorised it lose that connection, and its tokens stop working. It cannot be undone.
