Your library and hours
What it finds
The program knows how the common launchers keep their games and reads that, read-only:
Steam, Epic Games, GOG, Ubisoft, EA, Riot, Xbox and Battle.net, in the 64-bit and the 32-bit way each does it. It also notices games that belong to no launcher: a folder with a game in it, a cracked copy, a game you run from your desktop. Those show with an .exe mark.
How it counts
When a game starts, the program notices (within a few seconds), waits briefly to be sure it is really running, and from then on counts the time until it stops. If the program restarts while you play, the session carries on.
| Where the game is from | Hours |
|---|---|
| Steam | The sessions the program records, and the hours Steam itself keeps, read from its local files every ten minutes. Moymo shows the larger of the two, so nothing is lost and nothing is counted twice. |
| Epic | Epic keeps its hours in its cloud, not on your PC. Import once (see below), and the program adds the time it records from then on. |
| Other launchers | Counted from now on, plus an optional hours before Moymo that you can type on a game. Those launchers keep no count the program can read. |
Importing Epic
Settings has an Epic panel. It opens Epic's own sign-in page in a window of the program (the same way other library managers do it), and takes the sign-in code from there. Moymo reads your library and your played time once, then revokes the session. Your Epic password is typed on Epic's page and never touches Moymo.
Epic's rules
This follows the same technique other open library tools use, and it is your decision: it is not an official Epic integration, and Epic's terms do not offer one. The panel says so before you start and has a switch that says you understand.
The two lists
Library has two parts:
- Downloaded: games installed on this PC, at the top. Each card shows the launcher's mark at the cover's top right (or .exe for a game outside any launcher), your hours, and your rating.
- Not installed: the rest of your library, with smaller cards, grouped by launcher, and "Only on Moymo" for games you keep on shelves without a launcher.
The filter button next to the page's own "Filter this list" box opens a card with Sort, Platform and Show, with counts. A dot on the button means a filter is on.
The subtitle shows three numbers with icons, and chips: Import Epic Games, and for each launcher found, a count and a read again arrow (it re-scans that launcher).
Ratings
The first time you play something new that you have not rated and that is not on one of your opinion shelves, a small window asks what you think: stars, one second. You can ignore it. Your answer goes to your Moymo profile like any other rating.
Hours of friends, covers and more
Games the program does not know yet are looked up on Moymo; for games Moymo has never seen, it asks the catalogue to add them (found by exact title in the games database). Steam demos get a page of their own, with the full game's cover, and are merged into the full game once it is out.
