Getting started

1. Make an account

Go to moymo.net and choose Sign up. You choose a username (3 to 24 lowercase letters, digits and underscores) and give an e-mail address and a password, or use a sign-in provider where the page offers one.

  • Your username is your address: your page lives at username.moymo.net, and username is how people mention you. Pick one you will still like in a year: it is how people find you.
  • A few names belong to Moymo itself and cannot be taken (admin, support, moymo, developer, wiki and similar).
  • Moymo sends you a verification e-mail. Open the link in it. Until you do, some things (a custom domain, publishing an application) are not available, and your account is not confirmed as yours.

2. Set up your profile in two minutes

Open Customize from the menu. A new page starts from a look (Signal for gamers, Ember for streamers, Blueprint for creators, Mono for nothing but your name) that you can change completely. The first things worth doing:

  1. Add a picture and a bio: see Picture, name and bio.
  2. Pick a profile colour: see Appearance.
  3. Add your links: see Blocks.

Everything else can wait. The editor shows your page as you change it, and your changes are only saved when you press the save button, so you can try things freely.

3. Connect what you play on

In Settings > Linked accounts, connect the accounts you want Moymo to read from: Steam (your library and hours), Discord (what you are playing right now, your server tag and badges), Riot, and the streaming and social accounts you want on your page. Each one has its own visibility switch, so connecting an account never makes it public by itself.

Moymo for Windows counts your hours for you: it sits in the system tray, notices when a game starts and stops, and asks you for a one-second rating the first time you play something new. Download it from moymo.net/download, run the file, and pair it with your account: it shows a code that you approve in your browser, so it never sees your password. See Moymo for Windows.

5. Find your friends

Search for people by username. Follow them to see what they play; when you follow each other you are mutual, and can message each other from the app.

Where next

The wiki is for Moymo's members and developers. Something wrong or missing? Use "Suggest a change" on any page.
