Settings and what is sent
Where the settings are
Settings in the program is a list of sections with a search box. The Servers add-on has a fuller panel behind the cog in its dock at the bottom left (the same panel is under Settings > Modules > Servers), laid out like a chat program's.
| Section | What is there |
|---|---|
| My Account | Your picture, name, e-mail and password (the same account as on moymo.net, so changes need your current password), About me (280 characters), where you are, and pronouns, which are shown on your card in servers. |
| Privacy & Data | What is shown of what you play, whether friends see that you are in a voice channel and that you are sharing (never which or what), noticing games outside launchers, forgetting cached chats. |
| Notifications | Which notes are shown, and how a note looks: colour, time, shape, animation, side. |
| Membership | Your plan: Free, Moymo+ or Moymo MAX. See the levels. |
| Voice | Devices, input volume, sensitivity, noise suppression, quality, push to talk. See Voice. |
| Camera | Which camera, its sharpness and smoothness, mirroring, starting off, with a preview. |
| Screensharing | The starting quality and sound, lowering a watched stream while someone talks, statistics of what a share really does, and a compatible capture mode for graphics cards where the new capture looks wrong. |
| Sounds | A set of sounds, a volume, and a file of your own for each event. |
| Accessibility | Text size, zoom, density, how chat looks, spacing, contrast, colour, links, motion, the look of status marks, and optional typing sounds. |
| Keybinds | Keys for the voice (they work over a game), push to talk, and the window. |
| Language & Time | The language and the clock, date and week, applied to every time the program writes. |
| Playing now | What the program sees you playing, each game with a switch for whether it may be shown; a program it did not notice can be named from the running ones. |
| Overlay | The overlay over a game. |
| Developer | Developer mode, which adds Copy ID to menus: see Developer mode. |
What the program sends to Moymo
| Sent | Why | |
|---|---|---|
| Games you play | Which game and for how long | To keep your library and hours up to date |
| Your library | The games it found installed, and Steam's own hour counts | To fill your library on Moymo |
| Presence | That you are playing a game, and which | So friends see it. On by default for a new install; the first screen says so and one switch turns it off, which removes it from Moymo. |
| Voice | That you are in a voice channel, and that you are sharing (never what) | Shown to friends, only if you allow it |
| Messages and calls | What you send, to the people you send it to | That is what a chat is |
| Clips and screenshots, the Vault | Nothing, unless you share or copy | They live on your PC |
What it does not send: your files, what is on your screen (unless you share it in a call), your passwords, your browsing, or a list of everything running on your PC.
What it reads, and how
It reads launchers' own files read-only (Steam's library and its hour counts, the other launchers' lists of installed games) and the list of running programs to notice a game. The processes it sees stay on your PC; only a game it recognises is reported.
Security
- Its key is stored in the Windows Credential Manager, encrypted to your Windows account; it is deleted when you uninstall.
- It never sees your password: it is paired by a code.
- Updates and add-ons are signed, and checked before they install.
- A paired PC is trusted with what you play, not with your account: changing your e-mail or password from the program needs your current password, and a wrong password is a plain error that does not unpair it.
